Coronavirus has, as we are all aware, had a significant impact on all our lives and the way we interact with each other. It has also had a significant impact on our business and how we operate.
Following the latest government advice, our office remains closed to members of the public. We will however, continue to operate behind closed doors and we will conduct our business by telephone, post or email as far as it is possible. Should it be necessary for your solicitor to see you in person, they will arrange an appointment for you to attend the office.
Please read our appointment guidance notes before attending an appointment. These arrangements will remain in place for the foreseeable future and until such time that the government guidance changes.
We are doing our best
The current restrictions mean that we are operating with reduced staffing levels. The shortage of staff within the office will sometimes lead to longer than usual wait times for your calls to be answered and for us to reply to your enquiries. We ask for your understanding and patience during this very difficult time for everyone.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause to our clients but we hope that you can appreciate that this action continues to be necessary to protect our staff and clients.

Buying and Selling Property
The government has issued some revised guidance for the public and the industry in relation to home buying and selling.
Following the announcement on Tuesday 12th May, government advice is,
"that people who wish to move home can do so."
Conveyancers can open for business and can take on new instructions. They should make sure their clients are aware of the differences in completing transactions during this period.
- Conveyancers should aim to conduct as much of their business remotely as possible.
- Where client meetings need to take place, measures should be put in place to ensure appropriate social distancing and hygiene measures.
- Conveyancers should do what they can to promote flexibility making provisions for the risks presented by coronavirus, for example when advising their clients who are ready to move not to exchange contracts on an occupied property unless they have made explicit provision for the risks presented by the virus.
- Conveyancers should prioritise support for anyone who is clinically vulnerable or shielding, or with symptoms of coronavirus or self-isolating to agree a new date to move.

Whilst we are doing our best to provide a service, not all members of our conveyancing team are working and we have a larger caseload. As a result, we are having to prioritise work based on the stage and circumstances of each transaction. Those closest to exchange of contracts and completion will be prioritised.
Please be aware that there may be several delays which affect conveyancing. For example, delays with the Royal Mail delivering post, local authority and/or water authorities offering reduced services etc. As a result, some transactions are progressing more slowly than usual and we kindly ask that you bear with us.
